What "hard quota" means
At your monthly limit, the next request returns 429 Too Many Requests. The
request is not billed and does not count against future quota — it just fails. There is
no overage rate, no soft cap, no "we'll let you go a little over and bill you for it
later". This is the load-bearing reason for buying Bytario over a metered API: the
worst-case bill is exactly the plan price.
FAQ
What counts as a request?
One successful API call to any /v1/* endpoint. Failed requests (4xx /
5xx) do not count. The current usage is returned in the X-Quota-Remaining
response header so you can monitor it inline.
Can I switch plans later?
Yes — switch up or down anytime via the Customer Portal in your Stripe billing dashboard. Switches take effect immediately and the quota updates on the next request.
How do I get my API key?
Subscribe through Stripe checkout, and the API key arrives by email within seconds. You can rotate the key anytime from the dashboard.
Do you offer a free tier?
The paid API has no free tier — but the consumer site at bytario.com is free forever, runs the same engine in your browser, and is the right answer if you only need a few conversions a day.
